Dining Inside is a series that I began in 2025 and have continued throughout 2026. The series explores nourishment as an inward process: discovering and cultivating the self beneath the identities we inherit, adopt, and perform. It examines how culture, family, and social expectations shape our sense of self, and what it means to look beyond these influences to consciously redefine who we are. Foods from the Eastern Mediterranean serve as cultural markers and metaphors for memory and transformation, while hands emerge as symbols of agency over identity, reflecting our ability to hold, shape, and continuously redefine ourselves.
